David C. Humes
David C. Humes, 63, of Cranberry Township died Monday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Born Feb. 22, 1942, in Wheeling, W.Va., he was the son of Ralph and Lillian Humes and the late Ruth Smith Humes.
He attended the Dutilh United Methodist Church, Cranberry Township.
Mr. Humes retired as a cab control supervisor from Conrail in Conway after 40 years and was a member of the Transportation Communication International Union.
He had been a dedicated scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 7 in Ohio and Troop 405 of Cranberry Township. He was a sustaining member of the Republican National Committee. He also was a model railroad enthusiast, an avid Pirates and Steelers fan and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Schrader Humes, whom he married July 18, 1964; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Todd "Mingo" and Rachel Gerrich Humes of Cranberry Township, Jeffrey and Beth Ludwik Humes of Butler, Michael and Jennifer Tracy Humes of Farmington, Conn., and Scott Humes of Cranberry Township; his parents of Mingo Junction, Ohio; two brothers, Eugene Humes of Mingo Junction and Harry Humes of Grayson, Ky.; and a sister, Dana Cangley of Mingo Junction.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kaitlin, Michael, Alexander, Tristan, Zachary and Jacob Humes; and his mother-in-law, Sue Schrader of Mingo Junction.
HUMES - Friends of David C. Humes, who died Monday, May 30, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERIVCES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Dr. Donald Scandrol, officiating. Burial will be at Mt.
