11:25 p.m. June 22 - Shawn Shultz, 19, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a report of a suspicious man loitering on Campbell Street. A patrolman saw Shultz standing outside the Marathon gas station. While questioning Shultz, the officer found a syringe.4:05 a.m. Wednesday - Justin Schweinberg, 20, and Christopher Gratzinger, 18, both of Butler, were charged with underage drinking and public drunkenness after police spotted them "staggering" on New Castle Street.1:44 a.m. Tuesday - Theresa Ivancik, 21, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Jefferson Street. Ivancik also was charged with driving her vehicle at an unsafe speed and not obeying a traffic device.
11:55 p.m. Tuesday - A truck driven by Suzanne Jean Rhodes, 27, of Grove City collided with a truck driven by Eugene Glenn Royle, 44, of Hilliards on Route 108 at the Route 173 intersection. Rhodes was charged with driving under the influence and several summary traffic violations. No one was injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.2:30 p.m. Saturday - A vehicle driven by Abigal Evitt, 19, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Kelly Amber, 24, of West Leechburg, which hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Kathleen Ohm, 43, of West Mifflin. Ohm was stopped on Route 8 northbound to make a left turn into Dollar General. All three drivers were wearing seat belts.6 a.m. June 22 - Edward Halagich, 34, of Butler was charged with stealing several pieces of scrap metal from Hunter's Truck Center in Center Township.3:30 p.m. June 23 - Kristy Farnen, 24, of Butler was charged with stealing $100 in cash from the Kwik Fill on New Castle Road in Prospect. Farnen was an employee.Wednesday - The Deli Crossing restaurant on East Butler Road in East Butler reported the theft of $300 in cash between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6:20 a.m. Wednesday. The burglar gained entrance to the building by throwing a cement block through a double-pane glass door.Sunday - Tammy Surrena, 22, of Slippery Rock reported the theft of a 33-inch color television, an RCA camcorder and numerous DVDs from her residence at 612 Primrose Lane in Brady Township between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
1:50 a.m. Sunday - A pickup truck driven by Russell Hamilton, 19, of Grove City failed to make a curve on Tieline Road in Pine Township, traveled 250 feet through a field and yard before hitting a garage attached to a house. After the impact, the truck was driven through another property back onto Tieline Road, continuing south toward Route 58. State troopers spotted the pickup, which was smoking from the front end, parked in a driveway. When they stopped, Hamilton ran up to the patrol car and claimed someone had stolen his truck, which he found abandoned on Tieline Road. After several conflicting statements, Hamilton admitted to being the driver during the hit-and-run incident. He faces several traffic citations. Neither Hamilton nor his passenger, Katherine Fiedler, 19, of Grove City, were injured. Both were wearing seat belts. Grove City Police assisted.
