PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Pirates put pitcher Oliver Perez on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, two days after he broke his toe while kicking a laundry cart in the clubhouse at Busch Memorial Stadium in St. Louis.

Perez left Sunday's game against the Cardinals trailing 4-3 after six innings, although the Pirates rallied to win 5-4.

Outfielder Nate McLouth will be called up from Indianapolis to fill Perez's roster spot.
