Roma Louise Griffin
Roma Louise Griffin, 74, of Valencia died Sunday at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Born May 1, 1931, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of James and Frances Cozad Vincent.
She graduated from Grove City High School and attended Grove City College and Carnegie Mellon University.
Mrs. Griffin was an active member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star 526 of North Hills, a district deputy of District 26 D, a member of the Daughters of the Nile and a past high priestess of the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine.
She dedicated her time and talent to the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Butler Shrine Luncheon Club and to the renovation of the original historic Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Midwestern Student Orchestra and was an accomplished violin and piano player. She enjoyed traveling, music, theater, showing horses with her family and riding motorcycles with her husband and the Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club.
Surviving are her husband, Harold Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. James (Carolyn) Holt of Boiling Springs, Cumberland County, and Mrs. James (Charlene) Shaw of Slippery Rock; and four granddaughters.
GRIFFIN - Visitation will be private. A memorial service for Roma Louise Griffin, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. David Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
