Hughes 50th anniversary

Tom and Darlyne Hughes of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with an Alaskan cruise and an open house at the Baptist Youth Center in Butler.

The former Darlyne Yockey married Hughes on June 18, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Worthington.

They have three sons, David Hughes of Denver, Mark Hughes of Butler and Timothy Hughes of Winter Garden, Fla. A daughter, Sharon Grooms, is deceased.

They also have 14 grandchildren.

Hughes is retired from Butler School District. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.

Mrs. Hughes is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to First Baptist Church in Butler. They enjoy camping and work with the prison ministry at Mercer State Prison.
