1:52 a.m. Friday - Jeffrey Roett, 44, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance and simple assault after police responded to a domestic dispute complaint. Georgia Hartle, 35, of Butler accused Roett of striking her in the face and ribs during an argument at Doughboy Park earlier in the night. Hartle and Roett have a 6-year-old child. Roett was arrested at the nearby Manhattan Bar. Police found 54 pills of Clonazepam in Roett's possession. Roett was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,000 bond.5:31 p.m. Monday - Trina Denk, 27, of Butler was charged with theft by deception. Denk is accused of giving herself 19 false refunds at Advance Auto Parts on Pullman Square between April 5 and May 31 totaling $2,099. She was the store's assistant manager at the time. Police said Denk admitted to the thefts, saying they were between $30 and $200 and were for helping pay her bills, including rent. She subsequently was fired. Store officials said she could sign her own refunds. She was cited and released.1:48 p.m. Friday - Samuel Taylor, 80, of Butler reported the theft of his 1989 Dodge Colt from the front of his house at 103 Wylie Ave. in the hour before he notified police. The blue car has an eagle painted on the hood. Police report the keys were in the vehicle.
8:42 p.m. Tuesday - A truck driven by James Westerman, 28, of Cabot rolled over while traveling on Fisher Road in Jefferson Township. Westerman was taken to Allegheny General Hospital via helicopter for treatment of a moderate injury.3:24 p.m. Thursday - An ATV driven by a juvenile rolled over while traveling on Browntown Road near Harmony Road in Mercer Township. The juvenile was taken to Grove City Hospital for treatment of a minor head injury and was cited for operating an ATV on the roadway, along with registration and insurance violations.12:55 a.m. Friday - A vehicle driven by Wilbert Tebay, 76, of Butler and a car driven by Jerri Hilliard, 47, of Slippery Rock collided on Hall Road in Brady Township. Tebay was cited for driving in the wrong lane. Tebay wasn't injured. Hilliard sustained a minor injury. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.2:55 p.m. Tuesday - A car driven by Lori Drobney, 42, of Harrisville collided with a motorcycle driven by William Bowser, 52, of Butler on Route 8 in Harrisville. Drobney sustained a minor injury, while Bowser and his passenger, Patricia Bowser, 52, sustained moderate injuries. Drobney was wearing a seat belt and the Bowsers were wearing helmets.5:50 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Donna Zeigler of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Renee Hewitt of Boyers on Route 308 near Pleasant Valley Road in Cherry Township. Hewitt was stopped, waiting for traffic to turn. There were no injuries. Both drivers and Zeigler's four passengers were wearing seat belts.9 p.m. May 28 - Michele Stockard of Butler reported a hit-and-run accident in which an unidentified red vehicle struck her car in the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township.5:14 p.m. Thursday - Bradley Graham, 22, of Butler reported a hit-and-run accident in which a black and gray Mini Cooper hit him while he was walking in the parking lot of Clearview Mall in Center Township. Graham wasn't injured. The male driver had black hair and a goatee.Thursday - Alben Sawmill on West Park Road in Worth Township reported the theft of five chainsaws worth $1,750 from an unlocked garage between Wednesday and Thursday. Anyone with information about the theft should call Butler State Police at 724-284 8100.
6:42 a.m. Thursday - Wayne Bieber, 38, of Lancaster Township was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a split-rail fence along Little Creek Road. Bieber was taken with moderate injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. A preliminary police report did not indicate if Bieber was wearing a helmet.
