10 a.m. Sunday - A 26-year-old city man was arrested for allegedly growing more than two dozen suspected marijuana plants inside his apartment.Police learned of the suspected growing operation and went to the home of William Scott, who immediately turned over a large ceramic water bong to officers, a police report said.A search of the apartment at 435 W. New Castle St. turned up 26 marijuana plants ranging from 2 to 15 inches tall. In addition to the bong, officers seized the plants and a grow lamp.Scott is charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
2:42 a.m. Saturday - Margaret Nelson, 21, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle struck a car parked in front of the Butler Area Sewer Authority building on Litman Road.9:15 p.m. Thursday - Jason Hovis, 23, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Vets Club Road.
11:45 p.m. Monday - Thomas Keaney, 50, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car traveled off Eagle Mill Road, went through a yard, hit a mailbox and ended up against a utility pole in Connoquenessing Township.11:05 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Jessica Herrington, 20, of Volant, Mercer County, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Gregory Fish, 32, of Bradford, McKean County, collided on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.Two passengers in the SUV, Richard Frenz, 37, and Jennell Vossler, 25, both of Bradford, suffered minor injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt.4:23 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Stanley Glinski Jr., no age given, of Pittsburgh struck a guard rail along Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.1:45 a.m. Monday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Jeffrey Mansfield, 26, of Slippery Rock struck a deer on Route 422 in Franklin Township.11:05 p.m. Sunday - Two boys who escaped the Summit Academy on Herman Road in Summit Township were found by academy staff a short time later on Route 422 near Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.10:25 a.m. Sunday - Brian Cindric Jr., no age given, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash on Country Club Road in Franklin Township.11:30 p.m. Saturday - Joseph Furka, 54, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Hansen Avenue in Butler Township.11:39 a.m. Thursday - A motorcycle driven by Donald Dickinson, 59, of New Galilee, Beaver County, struck the rear of a car stopped for traffic on New Castle Road near the Wendy's restaurant in Butler Township. David Aldridge, 38, of Butler was driving the car.Dickinson, who was not wearing a helmet, and his motorcycle crashed onto the road. He was taken with a head injury to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. His condition was not known this morning.9:26 p.m. May 31 - A van driven by Greg Milkovich, 47, of Butler and a car driven by Joseph Enis, 19, of Grove City collided on Route 258 in Slippery Rock Township. The van, following the collision, rolled onto its side. Milkovich was cited for a lane violation.
Thursday - A digital camera was taken between May 25 and Thursday from a car on Barkeyville Road in Pine Township, Mercer County.4:48 a.m. Wednesday - A tractor-trailer driven by VyacheslavSelvesyuk, 23, of Traverse City, Mich. struck a car while making an illegal pass in a construction zone on Interstate 80 in Pine Township, Mercer County.Police said Selvesyuk did not stop after he collided with the car, driven by Jason Bertothy, 34, of Philipsburg, Centre County. Troopers stopped the tractor-trailer a short time later on the highway. Selvesyuk is charged with hit-and-run and other traffic violations.
