Thomas and Jean Stemmerich of Eau Claire celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family picnic at Eau Claire Park.

The former Jean Altmire married Stemmerich on May 21, 1955, at the home of the bride’s parents in Eau Claire.

They have two children, Edward Stemmerich of Grove City and Stacy Marano of Parker.

They also have five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Stemmerich is retired from Cooper Bessemer in Grove City.

Mrs. Stemmerich is retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a cook.
