Registration is now open for a Junior Golf league at 9 a.m. every Tuesday for eight weeks beginning June 7 through July 26 at Aubrey's Dubbs Dred Golf Course.

There will also be a four-day golf school from June 8-9 and 16-17 at the course, taught by PGA professional John Aubrey Sr.

Myron Cope's annual charity golf tournament, slated for June 20 at Montour Heights Country Club, has combined with the Tri-State PGA Invitational.John Mazza, Montour Heights club pro, expects 22 area pros to compete, one with each scrambling foursome. The second annual PH Cure Golf Outing will be held at noon Aug. 27 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club.The day includes golf, lunch, dinner, skill prizes, raffle prizes and an auction, with 100 percent of all net proceeds going to Pulmonary Hypertension research.PH is a rare and potentially life threatening disease that causes high blood pressure in the lungs. Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Louis Lipps will be the celebrity golfer as St. Barnabas Health System hosts its 18th Charitable Golf Open Monday at the Butler Country Club.Registration fee is $325 per player for the morning field, which tees off at 7:45 a.m., and $375 per player for the afternoon field, which begins at 12:45 p.m. Cost includes 18 holes of golf, cart, beverages and unlimited range balls. Morning session golfers receive a buffet breakfast and gourmet lunch; afternoon golfers receive a buffet lunch.All are invited to attend a cocktail hour and awards dinner. The second annual Butler County Community College Alumni/Athletics Golf Outing will be Friday at the Oakview Country Club in Slippery Rock Township.Registration will be at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m.Various tee, hole and prize sponsorship opportunities are available. The United States Golf Association has awarded the Woodlands Foundation of Wexford a $35,000 grant, which will help support the golf component at the "No Handicap" Golf Course.The grant was scheduled to be presented Friday in conjunction with the "First Swing" Clinic, which is designed to teach the basics of golf to individuals with disabilities.

HealthQuest Medical Associates will host the American Cancer Society Golf Event, June 11 at Connoquenessing Country Club in Ellwood City.The golf package is $125 per golfer ($85 for members) and includes a T-shirt, 18 holes of golf, cart, box lunch, beverages at the turn, buffet dinner, prizes and one raffle ticket.The dinner package is $25 per person and includes buffet dinner and non-alcoholic beverages. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.Raffle tickets are $2 each and will be available the day of the outing.
