BC3 offering camp for kids
BUTLER TWP - Butler County Community College's Kids on Campus summer enrichment program begins June 20 and runs through Aug. 5 at the BC3 main campus.
The program offers weekly fun and educational classes for elementary, middle and high school students with special interest camps in theater and art.
The classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and are 105 minutes long. Tuition is $50 per course, or three courses per week for $130.
Topics vary per age group and range from Money Matters and Kitchen Concoctions to Ooey Gooey Science Stuff, Photography and Edible Arithmetic.
Kids can learn about life in a medieval castle, robotics, puppets, tsunamis, ice age mastodons and icebergs.
The Artists Camp is June 20 through July 1, all day, for grades 5 to 8. These classes last from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students enrolled in the classes will spend two weeks delving into different types of art media using acrylic paints and watercolors. Enrollment is limited and cost is $350.
The Theater Camp is all day from July 11 to 22 for grades 6 to 10. Students will study character development, monologues, improvisation and set work for a production that culminates in a performance on July 22. Enrollment is limited and costs $350.
Also there are basketball skill camps for boys and girls, and a girls dance and cheer camp.
