A Garden Planting Extravaganza will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Gateway Gardens to begin planting in the community garden for the season.

The Intermediate League of Butler, the Butler Junior Women's Club, The Butler Garden Club, Eisler Nurseries and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy will host the event.

Volunteers will meet at the garden, located at the intersection of Routes 8 and 422 to begin planting.

Volunteers are also needed to serve as garden stewards throughout the season.
