William Shannon of Butler celebrated his 95th birthday with a family open house at the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church in Renfrew.

Born April 18, 1910, in Renfrew, he married Audrey Crispin on June 15, 1937. She is deceased.

He has three children, William Shannon Jr. of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.; Virginia Henry of Renfrew; and Sue Anderson of Greensburg. He also has eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Shannon is retired from the Butler School District.

He is a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, where he is involved in the Upper Room Sunday School Class. He is also a member of the United Commercial Travelers.
