The results of baseball and softball games, as well as other youth sporting events, can be called into the Butler Eagle sports department only between 7 and 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 to 10 p.m. Sundays. The department is closed to phoned reports on Saturdays.

Applications are available for the 30th annual Butler Road Race, a 5-mile run and 2K health walk slated for 9 a.m. June 25.The race starts and ends at the Butler County Courthouse. Tryouts have been scheduled for athletes interested in representing the Great Lake Region baseball teams in the 2005 Keystone State Games July 26-31 in York.Local tryouts for the junior division for players entering grades nine and 10 are 11 a.m. June 19 at the Butler County Community College baseball field.Tryouts for the scholastic division for those entering grades 11 and 12 are at 1:30 p.m. June 19 at the BC3 field.

Butler and Seneca Valley are hosting WPIAL boys volleyball playoff games today.Butler hosts South Park while Seneca Valley hosts Avonworth. Both games are at 7 p.m.
