Heather Francis and Shawn Denham, both of Karns City, were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiated. A reception was held at the Butler Days Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Lawrence "Bud" and Sue Francis of Chicora. Parents of the bridegroom are Jeanine Prgomet of Pittsburgh and the late Patrick Denham.

The matron of honor was Christine Rice of Chicora. Bridesmaids included Bobbi Bly of East Brady, Melissa Kelly of Bruin and Jessica Bell and Lisa Francis, both of Chicora. The junior bridesmaid was Ashley Francis of Chicora.

Performing the duties of best man was Mike Bly of East Brady. Groomsmen included Matt Angert and Alan Kelly, both of Bruin; Nick McCarl of Butler; and Tom Rice of Chicora. The junior groomsman was Jimmy Francis of Chicora.

The bride graduated in 1995 from Karns City High School and in 2000 from Indiana (Pa.) University. She works for U.S. Investigations Services.

The bridegroom graduated in 1984 from Central Catholic High School and in 1992 from the Community College of the Air Force. He works for the Pennsylvania State Police in Butler.

Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Karns City.
