Robert G. Lassinger
Robert G. Lassinger, 67, of Sarver died Monday at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Feb. 24, 1938, in Penn Township, he was the son of Lawrence L. and Velma C. Phillips Lassinger.
He served in the Army and was a member of Turner Tankers.
Mr. Lassinger was self-employed as a general contractor for 40 years in southern Butler County.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver where he served as an elder. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited and was an avid waterfowl hunter and trap shooter. Mr. Lassinger served as a deputy game warden for a number of years.
He was known in area restaurants as the "Candy Man" for the hard candies he distributed.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy McCool Lassinger, whom he married March 23, 1996; a son, R. Bryan (Anne) Lassinger of Natrona Heights; a daughter, Sandra Henry of Butler; two brothers, Raymond C. (Peg) Lassinger of Butler and Dan P. (Lorrie) Lassinger of Cabot; a step-daughter, Amanda McIntyre of Hubbard, Ohio; a step-son, Patrick McIntyre of Butler; and a grandson, Alex Lassinger.
LASSINGER - Friends of Robert G. Lassinger, who died Monday, April 4, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer, pastor, officiating.
