4:30 p.m. Sunday - Andrew Rosol, 20, of Ford City and Tyson Bargerstock, 19, of Worthington were charged with retail theft and conspiracy to commit theft at the Butler Commons Wal-Mart. Rosol and Bargerstock are accused of stealing $176 worth of DVDs.11:32 a.m. Sunday - A 15-year-old male from Butler Township was charged with unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief after admitting he twice took a motorcycle from a neighbor's house. The motorcycle also had been damaged. The teenager is being processed through Butler County Juvenile Services.In the same incident, Janice Ostermeyer, 50, of Verona, the mother-in-law of the motorcycle's owner, was charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct after witnesses saw her pointing a gun at the 15-year-old male. When police recovered the pistol, it was loaded. Ostermeyer had a permit for the gun.
9:40 p.m. Sunday - A van driven by Matthew Cook, 33, address unknown, struck a guide rail on Branchton Road in Cherry Township. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire. Cook wasn't injured. He was charged with driving under the influence and related summary offenses and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.1:15 a.m. Saturday - A car driven by Grace Koutsouflakis, 22, of Slippery Rock was traveling south on Crestview Road in Slippery Rock Township when it went off the east berm and landed in a ditch. Koutsouflakis was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges will be filed.10:59 a.m. Sunday - Layne Marburger, 36, of West Sunbury was charged with simple assault and harassment after he fired a gun at his residence and a car. Marburger surrendered to police.
12:58 a.m. April 27 - James Daniel Wylie, 49, of 174 Tomlinson Dr., Zelienople, was arrested on driving under the influence related charges after his vehicle was reported striking a mailbox near Northland Ford on Route 19.4:13 p.m. April 25 - Corey and Jackie Wearing reported someone broke into their residence on German Street. Several rooms were ransacked and searched, but no items seemed to be missing. The burglars had gained entrance through a basement door that was pried open.10 a.m. April 25 - Jeffrey Labas, owner of Labas Auto at 521 South Main St. reported a black vinyl soft top for a 1989 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from his property over the weekend. The value of the item is listed at $380.
