Theodore and Bernice "Fran" Czyzyk of Lyndora will celebrate 50 years of marriage Saturday with a family dinner and a blessing by the Rev. George Palick at Sunnyview Nursing Home, where Theodore Czyzyk resides.

The former Bernice Kowalski married Czyzyk on April 30, 1955, at St. Adalbert's Roman Catholic Church in Farrell.

They have five children, Christine Palace, Jane Maxwell, Theodore Czyzyk Jr., Patricia Schaeffer and Julie Augustine, all of Butler.

They also have six grandchildren.

Czyzyk is retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he worked as a guard and painter.

Mrs. Czyzyk is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.
