RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The Ladies' Ministry of Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday to make a care box for retired minister's widow Lenore Rycroft and final exam care boxes for Kevin Johns and Nathan Martsolf. The group will also work on the church banners and wall hangings.

Music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service will be provided by Krystal McIndoe and Amber Reckner.

The 40 Days Friendship Circle study groups will meet Mondays through Saturdays for the next six weeks. For meeting times and locations, call 724-287-PRAY, 724-482-4116 or 724-283-2058.

The Pittsburgh District's Central Zone spring training session will be held Monday at Mercer Church of the Nazarene, 8385 Lamor Road, Mercer. A potluck dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and training will follow at 7 p.m.

CHICORA U.M.

Chicora United Methodist Church, 203 Central Ave., Chicora, will host a tureen dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday for the United Methodist Churches of Chicora, Karns City, Fairview and Bruin. Participants should take a covered dish to share. Beverages and table service will be provided.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

Kathy White, the Western Pennsylvania Conference director of camping and youth, will speak to the congregation of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.

Members of the 2005 confirmation class will attend service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Congregation B'Nai Abraham.

In observance of Children's Month, Tim Spence and Pam Aldridge will speak about children with special needs during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

The youth of Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will attend the Acquire the Fire conference April 22 and 23 at the Petersen Events Center. Cost is $30. For information, visit www.coc-butler.org.

The Seniors of North Main are planning a tour of the Butler County Heritage Center and lunch at the Rocky Mountain Deli. Cost is $3 for the tour and $5.50 for lunch. For reservations, call 724-283-8407.

COVENANT PRESBY

Angela Harkins, a member of the theology faculty at Duquesne University, will lead the Seekers class at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

FIRST BAPTIST

Members of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will participate in a work day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Lunch will be provided.

A paintball event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. Cost is $20 and includes gun rental, lunch and 100 paintballs.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Volunteers from First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., are needed to pick up bakery products Monday mornings through June. A sign-up sheet is available in the social room.

FIRST U.M.

Jeffrey Greenway, president of the Asbury Theological Seminary, will be the speaker at the weekend services of First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.

GLADE RUN U.P.

A potluck dinner and prayer meeting will be held Sunday at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 7 p.m. Participants should take a dish to share.

Wednesday will mark the last week of the R.O.C.K. after-school program. A carnival celebration will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

The youth group will attend the Acquire the Fire conference on April 23. The group will gather for a lock-in on April 22 and leave for the conference the following morning.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

A congregational meeting will be held after the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. A vote will be taken on the sale of the New Castle Street property.

A project day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the social hall. Participants should take a bag lunch.

HARVEST ASSEMBLY OF GOD

Don Larva will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Harvest Assembly of God, 160 Brownsdale Road.

HILL U.P.

Scout Sunday will be observed at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. Scout memorabilia will be on display after the service in Fellowship Hall. To contribute to the display, contact John Porter.

Registration for the paintball trip is due by Sunday. Cost is $10 per person with own gear and $35 if purchasing gear at the facility. Youth will leave the church at 11 a.m. and should take a packed lunch and money for snacks.

Volunteers are needed for the summer Early Edition vacation Bible school and the Off-site/Outta Sight Kids' Club Camp. Registrations are also being accepted. Contact Kathy Sawyer at 724-287-5427 for dates and times.

The deacons are seeking monetary donations for college and military care packages. Packages will be mailed this week.

The Presbyterian Women's circles are collecting donations to support the Synod of the Trinity project in Haiti. Reservations for the April 29 spring gathering are now due.

HOMEACRE CHAPEL

The Prettyman Evangelistic Team will minister Sunday through April 22 at Homeacre Chapel, 340 Whitestown Road. The team will participate in Sunday school and the Sunday service. Services will also be held at 7 p.m. Monday through April 22. Child care will be available during all services.

MERIDIAN U.P.

The deacons of Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will sponsor a bowling party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Meridian Lanes. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Newly commissioned deacons and ordained elders will be recognized at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch Senior High School, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

Summer camp registration is now being accepted at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. All registration is due by the end of April.

A gospel concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Calvin Church in Zelienople.

PARK U.P.

The youth of Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, will attend the Acquire the Fire conference April 22 and 23. Cost is $40 and participants should take money for a fast food lunch. The group will leave the church parking lot at 5:15 p.m. April 22 and return at 10:30 p.m. April 23. The Parkette's children's choir will perform its play at 7 p.m. April 24 at the church. A fellowship time will follow.

RIDER LUTHERAN

The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury.

In preparation for the youth service on April 24, a youth practice will be held after the 10 a.m. Sunday service.

SAINT ANDREWS U.P.

Due to a scheduling error, the Westminster College Gospel Choir will not perform Sunday at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 East Jefferson St. The tureen dinner planned after the performance has been canceled.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

Volunteers from St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, are needed to cook for the Neighborhood Academy Project on Tuesday. Volunteers should meet by 3 p.m.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

A Thanks Offering will be collected during the Sunday service at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St. Checks can be made payable to St.Peter's ECW and note UTO in the lower left corner.

ST. RICHARD R.C.

Sunday through April 21 will be the last week of Faith Formation classes for the season at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia.

Eucharistic Adoration will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 21.

The Life Teen group is collecting books suitable for teens and family videos and board games for young patients at Western Psychiatric Hospital. A used video game system and a bookcase are also needed. Donations must be received by April 22. For information, call 724-444-1971, Ext. 10.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

A contemporary service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Dr.

Communion will be served at the 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday services.

Youth volunteers are needed to share musical talents for the Mother/Child Tea Party to be held May 21. A sign-up sheet is located in the narthex.

A Community Health Fair will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Donations of shampoo, toothpaste, bath soap, envelopes, stamps, tablets, cards and adult-size bibs are being collected for the YWCA of Butler. A list of other items needed is located on the bulletin board.

Delegates are needed for the Synod Assembly to be held June 16 through 18 at Thiel College. To participate, contact Rev. Tom Pierotti.
