Butler's boys finished second out of 14 teams recently at the Butler Junior High Track and Field Invitational.
The Golden Tornado tallied 88¾ points. Dillon O'Donnell won the shot put with a mark of 37 feet, 7½ inches. Logan Renwick broke the meet record in the triple jump by more than seven inches with a leap of 39-5¼.
Finishing second for Butler were Renwick in the 110-meter hurdles, Ryan Bock in the 200 meters, Jordan Emmerick in the shot put and discus, and the 1,600 meter relay team of Nathan Neff, Ryan Petit, Elijah Christy and Jeff Tompkins.
Tompkins placed third in the 800. Fourth-place finishers were Bock in the 100, Brian Vavro in the 110 hurdles and Ben Porter in the 3,200 meters. Placing fifth through seventh were Petit and Neff in the 400 meters, Christy in the 800, Chris Alikhani in the 1,600, Dane Horwat in the high jump and the 400 relay team of Nate McCandless, Adam Wolf, Bock and Horwat.
