Karns City baseball improves to 4-0
Spencer Collins pounded out two doubles, a single and five RBI as the Karns City High School baseball team thrashed West Shamokin 10-0 in five innings Saturday afternoon.
Matt Allen also enjoyed a big day at the plate for the Gremlins (4-0), singling twice, doubling and driving home three runs.
Matt Ealy tossed a one-hitter for Karns City, striking out seven and walking just one.

Matt Schandelmeier won the shot put with a throw of 49 feet and the javelin with a 163 feet, 7 inch effort to highlight the day for the Moniteau boys track and field team at the Brookville Invitational Saturday.Schandelmeier also placed third in the discus with a mark of 134-8.Vance Farren was second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.7 seconds and Zach Thompson was also a runner-up in the 300 hurdles (42 seconds).
Zach Reiser scored two goals and Justin Karam and Andrew McIntosh added one assist each, but the Butler boys lacrosse team fell to 0-3 with a 13-2 loss to Quaker Valley.
