Gremlins slip past Keystone, 8-7
Josh Behrens had four RBI and Coty McGregor struck out nine batters in a complete-game effort as the Karns City baseball team defeated Keystone 8-7 Thursday.
The loss overshadowed a two-homer, four-RBI performance by Ben Weeter and a home run and two RBI by Justin Bifano for the Panthers.
In other action:
Mike Benson's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning drove home Travis Shaffer and gave Moniteau an 8-7 victory over Slippery Rock.
Despite 13 strikeouts from John Sallee, the A-C Valley dropped a 5-4 decision to West Forest.
Jesse Alfreno doubled and, after a rough first inning, pitched four no-hit innings, but Grove City fell to Christian High School from San Diego 2-0 during a trip to Orlando, Fla.
Bill Herman and Andy Geibel also doubled for Grove City.
The Eagles (1-1) play Calvery Chapel of Costa Mesa, Calif., today.
