Francis and Madeline Soose of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a surprise party.

The former Madeline Frazier married Soose on March 19, 1955 at the home of the late Rev. McMunn of Butler.

They have four children, Susan Snyder and Francis Soose Jr., both of Butler; James Soose of Slippery Rock; and Sheila Soose of Pittsburgh. A son, Steven Soose, is deceased.

They also have six grandchildren.

Soose is retired from Armco.

Mrs. Soose is employed at the Bon-Ton department store in Center Township.

The couple belongs to North Main Street Church of God.
