Robert F. Johnston
Robert F. Johnston, 48, of East Portersville Road, Portersville, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a 19-month illness.
Born June 10, 1956, in Butler, he was the son of Frank Johnston and Gladys Butler Johnston Rea.
He was a 1974 alumnus of Portersville Christian School and was a field service technician at Robinson Industries, Zelienople, since April 1976.
Mr. Johnston was an active member of the Portersville Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where he was secretary of the governing board of the church and an elder. He also was on the Portersville Christian School Board.
He enjoyed woodworking and golf.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Johnston, whom he married, Sept. 29, 1975; a son and daughter, Robert F. Jr. and Rebecca Johnston, both of Portersville; and a grandson, Isaiah Johnston. Also surviving are his father of Conneaut Lake; his mother and stepfather Jim Rea of Butler; a sister, and brother-in-law, Sherl and John Parson of Portersville and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William H. and Betty J. Tillia of Princeton.
JOHNSTON - Friends of Robert F. Johnston, who died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday atMARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Anthony Dupont, his church pastor, officiating.
