An April 16 wedding is being planned by Jennifer Philips of Butler and John Merwick of Honolulu.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Randall and Linda Philips of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Robert and Marianne Merwick of Oklahoma City.

The bride is a 1990 graduate of Karns City High School and a 1994 graduate of California (Pa.) University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in graphic communications. She works as a freelance graphic designer with The Vineworks in Butler.

Her fiancé is a 1990 graduate of Woodbridge High School. He is employed at C and J Solar Solutions in Honolulu.
