Charles Byerly, son and stepson of Kathy and Dave Miller of Mars, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.Byerly is a 2004 graduate of Mars High School.

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class <B>Shannon Hilderbrand</B> has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.She is the daughter of Larry and Janice Hilderbrand of Fenelton.Hilderbrand is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School.

Air Force Senior Airman <B>William Swanson</B> is currently deployed on his second tour of duty in Iraq.The airman, a surveillance technician with four years of military service, is normally assigned to the 728th Air Control Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Valparaiso, Fla.He is the son of Kym Fragale of Fenelton and William Swanson of Kane.His wife, April, is the daughter of Richard and Jeanie Ruiz of Fillmore, Calif.Swanson is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School.
