Slippery Rock woman injured in car accident
MERCER TWP - A Slippery Rock woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when the car she was riding in collided with a sport utility vehicle on Route 173, state police said.
Bobbi Armstrong, 26, was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following the 2:50 p.m. crash.
Her condition was not known this morning. But the injuries were not considered life threatening, police said.
The crash occurred when a southbound Pontiac Firebird driven by Richard Atwell, 27, of Grove City spun sideways after traveling off the road, police said.
The car crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Robert Kroell, 61, of Clearfield, Clearfield County.
The SUV, after the crash, traveled into a nearby yard.
Kroell and a 9-year-old boy riding in the SUV, were taken with minor injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City.
Atwell, who was not injured, faces traffic citations for reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to stay in his lane of traffic, police said.
