For the second consecutive year, students from Freeport High School won the 19th annual Allegheny Valley Chamber of Commerce Academic Triathlon Monday at Springdale High School. They competed with teams from Allegheny Valley, Deer Lakes and Highlands school districts. Members of the Freeport team are, from left, back row: Alexis Parshook, Bonnie Merchant, D.J. Lingelbach and Gregory Cherry, and in the front row are coaches Debbie Kinosz, left, and Daniel Soltis. Winning team members get individual trophies, and the school gets a traveling trophy that is kept during the year.
