Shirley Bauman

Shirley M. Bauman, 69, of New Brighton, formerly of Cranberry Township, died Thursday at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born June 6, 1935, in Minot, N.D., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Goldie Coutts.

She was a member of the Plains Presbyterian Church in Cranberry Township. She was a retired statistician with the U.S. Census Bureau.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are two daughters, Joy Griffin of Zelienople and Susan G. Burr of Freedom; three sons, Mark Bauman of Zelienople, the Rev. Kerry L. and wife Laurie Bauman of Trevor, Wis., and David V. and wife Lisa Bauman of New Brighton; a brother, Gary Coutts of Syracuse, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren, Cory, Steve, Chelsie, Dylan, Jordan, Jeremiah, Chris, Katie, Jeanne, Tim, Courtney, Amanda, and R.J.; three great-grandchildren, Colin, Alyssa, and Aiden; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. Bauman, who died July 26, 1999; a sister, Patsy McLeod; and a granddaughter, Patricia.

BAUMAN - Friends of Shirley M. Bauman, who died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kerry L.
