Robert Lee Thomas, 79, of Butler died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 3, 1925, in Butler, he was the son of Adelai and Gertrude Lee Thomas.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and retired from Hoffman Auto Parts after 20 years.

Surviving are his wife, Helen JoAnn Borden Thomas, whom he married Aug. 25, 1945; two daughters, Mrs. John (Jean) Kurtz of Vandergrift and Mrs. Larry (Robin) Hildebrand of Butler; a son, John "Jack" Thomas of Butler; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and three sisters.
