Gilmore T. Gilliland

Gilmore "Gil" Thomas Gilliland, 67, of Connoquenessing died at 6:30 a.m. Friday at his home after an illness.

Born Sep. 3, 1937, in Prospect, he was the son of Carl Nobel and Mildred A. Cunningham Gilliland.

He was retired from Pullman-Standard since 1981. He formerly co-owned B & G Parts and Machine, and formerly worked for the Zanotti Motor Co. He was currently a school bus driver for A. J. Myers and Son.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a member of Butler Area Street Machine Association, and he enjoyed hunting, and working on and building Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Surviving are his wife, Tedda Burleigh Gilliland, whom he married July 1, 2000; three daughters, Julie Sue Angerett of Butler, Mrs. Fred (Valerie Jean) Pferdehirt of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Jeff (Kay Ellen) Ridgway of Bellvernon; two sons, Gilmore "Tom" and his wife Edna Gilliland Jr., and Martin Lewis Gilliland, all of Butler; five grandchildren, Mark Anthony Angerett, Erin Gilliland, Clinton Gilliland, Edward T. Pferdehirt, and Erick M. Pferdehirt; one step-son, Christopher D. Burleigh of Slippery Rock; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jim (Michelle D.) Ellenberger of Butler; three step-grandchildren, Justin Ellenberger, Jesse Ellenberger, and Hildi Burleigh; one sister, Mrs. Edward (Elsie) Kooser of Pittsburgh; four brothers, Carl Gilliland and Don Gilliland, both of Fort Myers, Fla., Ken Gilliland and Lewis Gilliland, both of Butler; eight nieces; and four nephews.

GILLILAND - Friends of Gilmore "Gil" Thomas Gilliland, who died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Pagano, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mt.
