1:31 a.m. Wednesday - George Brown, 67, of 500 W. Pearl St. was arrested for driving under the influence at Pearl Street and Dr. Pepper Avenue.

11:45 a.m. Wednesday - No one was injured but a passing car was damaged when a bale of hay fell out of a pickup truck on Unionville Road in Franklin Township.The unknown driver of the unidentified green or blue pickup, traveling north, that was hauling the load of hale did not stop after one of the bales hit the southbound car driven by Louise Fisher, 74, of Portersville.1:15 a.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Joshua Cole, 20, of Saxonburg struck a guardrail on Blakely Road in Jefferson Township. The car rolled over the guardrail and landed on an embankment.Wednesday - An attempted home invasion was foiled when a would-be burglar was unable to get inside a Whipporwill Drive home in Franklin Township.Police said the unidentified suspect between 12:45 and 5:30 a.m. entered the enclosed porch through an unlocked storm door and tried to break into the home while the family was asleep inside. A door knob leading to the kitchen was loosened but remained secure and prevented the burglary.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.Wednesday - John Krauland Jr., 19, of Saxonburg was arrested for allegedly filing a false report that claimed his car was stolen Monday from the Saxony Estates Trailer Court in Jefferson Township.3:10 p.m. Tuesday - A vehicle driven by Cassandra Kowalczyk, no age given, of Ford City, Armstrong County, struck a tree along Route 422 near Westminster Road in Clinton Township. Kowalczyk was taken with minor injuries to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning.

7:55 p.m. Monday - A load of pallets that spilled from a pickup truck on Route 422 in West Franklin Township, just west of Worthington, Armstrong County was blamed for a two-vehicle collision that injured a Butler County woman.The chain-reaction crash occurred when a number of wooden pallets fell out of the pickup driven by Thomas Bianco, 48, of Cambridge Springs, Crawford County.Karen Graham, 44, of Clearfield Township was unable to stop her van, traveling behind the pickup, before hitting some of the pallets. After stopping, the van was struck from behind by a Mack truck driven by Scott Zimmerman, 40, of Fleming, Ohio.Graham was taken with minor injuries to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning. Police said Bianco faces a traffic citation for failing to secure the load of pallets.

5:55 p.m. Monday - Scott Bogdan, 38, of Monaca, Beaver County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township, Mercer County.
