Cora E. Slatinsky

Cora E. Slatinsky, 82, of the Mercer-Butler Pike in Liberty Township, Mercer County, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday at United Community Hospital, Pine Township, Mercer County.

Born in New Castle, Aug. 1, 1922, she was the daughter of Oscar Earl and Elsie Mildred Ramsey Rodgers.

She was a veteran of the Women's Army Corps. She was a homemaker and had been a cook at the Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City. Beginning in the late 1940s, she had been a clerk at Spanglehour's Store in North Liberty for several years.

Mrs. Slatinsky was a member of the Drake Alliance Church at Number 2 Mine, Springfield Township, Mercer County.

Surviving are three sons, Tracy L. Slatinsky and his wife, Margie, of the family home in Liberty Township, Richard Earl Rust and his wife, Joyce, of Cochranton and William A. Slatinsky Jr. of Dormont; and a grandson, Matthew Slatinsky.

Her husband, William Andrew Slatinsky, whom she married April 9, 1955, died Feb. 24, 1996. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, Howard and Harold "Toots"; and a sister, Edith Shaffer.

SLATINKSY - Friends of Cora E. Slatinsky, who died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1778 Perry Highway, Leesburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Dindinger, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
