Mary E. Reges, 82, of Butler died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at her home after a recent illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Mars, she was the daughter of William John and Nancy Bell Shelley Neithercoat.

She enjoyed her children and grandchildren and always lived by the phrase "Humor is a shock absorber that smoothes out the bumps in life."

She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble "Jack" John Reges who died Jan. 28, 1987.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Frank Long and Margie and Dan Focht, all of Butler; six grandchildren, Richard, John and David Long, Mary and her husband, Ken Rivers and Karla and Mark Focht; and a great-grandson, Bryan Rivers. Also surviving are a sister, Bessie McClain of Saxonburg; two brothers, William Neithercoat and his wife, Robbie, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Harry Neithercoat of Butler; a family friend, Dale Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

REGES - Services for Mary E. Reges, who died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, will be private. Private burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.Arrangements are being handled by YOUNG FUNERAL HOMEand will be available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
