A Sept. 3 wedding is being planned by Erin McGarrity and Jason Schmidhamer, both of Valencia.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gary and Suzanne McGarrity of Valencia. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Florian Schmidhamer Jr. of Valencia and Cindy Schmidhamer of Pittsburgh.

The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Mars High School and a 2002 graduate of Carlow College where she received a bachelor's degree in social work. She is employed at Mars Home for Youth in Mars.

Her fiancé is a 1998 graduate of Mars High School. He works for the United Parcel Service in Butler.
