Yvonne B. Johnson
Yvonne Bouchat Johnson died on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 84. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy Johnson for 57 years.
She was born in the Tarentum/Natrona Heights area, lived for a time in Butler and spent most of the last 40 years of her life in Zelienople.
Throughout her life she was an active member of her church and community. During her years in Zelienople she was a charter member in 1975 and president in 1985 of the Zelienople Historical Society. She collaborated with the late Alberta Wright in the creation of three musicals incorporating the history of Zelienople and was the director of these productions.
At the Calvin United Presbyterian Church of Zelienople, she was a church leader and served as the choir director. While living in Butler, she was a member of the Covenant United Presbyterian Church and was active in the adult education program and the women's association.
Whatever she did, be it caring for her family, working for church and community, traveling to Israel and Egypt, gardening, or helping others, she did with great energy, determination and commitment. She was a woman of unshakeable will and faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Jenifer and Pamela Johnson of Pittsburgh, Rebecca Zellefrow of Butler; a granddaughter, Christine Yvonne Cato of Pittsburgh; and her brothers, Robert and Merle Bouchat, both of Natrona Heights.
JOHNSON - A memorial service for Yvonne Bouchat Johnson, who died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 13 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Highland Park of Pittsburgh.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Zelienople Historical Society, P.O.
