William Sr. and Margaret "Peggy" Thompson of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with a party at the Greenwood Village Fire Hall and a trip to Atlantic City.

The former Margaret Bailey married Thompson on Feb. 16, 1955 at the home of the bride's grandmother in Butler.

They have four children, William Thompson Jr. of Slippery Rock, James Thompson and Cindy Boulanger, both of Butler; and Donald Thompson of Boyers.

They also have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Thompson is retired from R.A.M. Transit.

Mrs. Thompson is also retired after working for 30 years in retail.
