Seneca Valley graduate Beth Hamilton, a member of the CCAC-Boyce women's basketball team, led that squad in scoring, rebounds, steals and assists this season.

She was named to the West Penn Collegiate Conference's all-conference team.

Three FCA Gems cheerleading squads won competitions Saturday at North Hills High School.The Pink Ice won the mini all-star division, the Turquoise won the junior prep all-star division and the Tanzanite won the junior all-star division. The Tanzanites won the Grand Championship trophy for being the highest-scoring team.Jenna Plutyk won the second-grade-and-under individual competition while Sara Becker won the ninth-grade-and-under division.All four FCA Gems squads, including the Diamonds, will be competing at the Pennsylvania Keystone Games this Sunday.

The Westminster College women's basketball team won its first-ever Presidents' Athletic Conference title over the weekend and received its first-ever bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.The Titans (20-7) defeated Washington & Jefferson 64-59 in the PAC title game as Union graduate and senior forward Mary Jane Eaton scored 12 points.Union graduate and sophomore guard Rachel Eaton also starts for Westminster.

Butler High School will serve as the site of two PIAA playoff basketball games Saturday.At 1 p.m., Clairton (18-7) and Clarion (23-5) will square off in a Class A girls contest. At 2:30 p.m., while New Castle (20-6) will face Mt. Lebanon (21-7) in a Class AAAA boys matchup.
