Kenneth Brenneman
Kenneth Ray Brenneman, 96, formerly of Slippery Rock Township, died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Living Center in Grove City.
Born in Leesburg, Springfield Township, Mercer County, Sept. 24, 1908, he was the son of David Scott Brenneman and Clara Rebecca Wilson Brenneman.
He was the oldest living member of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church. He was very active in his church, serving as elder and former Sunday school superintendent and trustee.
Mr. Brenneman retired as a self-employed farmer. For years he also had worked at H.W. Cooper of Slippery Rock, later known as Cooper Brothers, where he primarily operated the stone washer and worked in other capacities.
He was a member of the Slippery Rock Grange and was a member and past president of the Slippery Rock AARP. He was active in volunteer work and delivered for Meals on Wheels at the age of 91. He was an avid bowler.
His wife, Alice Matilda Osborne Brenneman, whom he married Dec. 11, 1929, died Feb. 7, 1982.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann Brenneman Eckler and her husband, Mark, of Greenville and Janet Ruth Duncan and her husband, Larry, of Slippery Rock; six grandchildren, Matthew Eckler, Emily Eckler LaGamba, Jenna Duncan Cawthorne, Heather Duncan Delity and Amanda and Miranda Duncan; and four great-grandchildren, Evan Duncan, Stefan Delity, Jesse Cawthorne and Dominik LaGamba.
BRENNEMAN - Friends of Kenneth Ray Brenneman, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St. Slippery Rock. Services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Mahaffey, his church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at North Liberty Presbyterian Cemetery.
