John "Jack" and Geraldine "Gerry" Baird of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage by renewing their vows. A celebration with family and friends is also being planned.

The former Geraldine Callen married Baird on Feb. 19, 1955 at Springdale Lutheran Church in West Sunbury.

They have three children, Jacquelyn Baird and Kathleen Wilson, both of Erie, and John Baird II of Harlansburg. They also have seven grandchildren.

Baird retired from Armco after 28 years. He was also affiliated with Baird Oil until the company was sold.

Mrs. Baird is a homemaker.

The couple belongs to Faith United Presbyterian Church in Butler, where both are charter members and members of the Primetimers senior group. Baird serves as an elder at the church and Mrs. Baird is a member of the Friday morning Bible study group.
