Robert L. Gilliland

Robert L. Gilliland, 66, formerly of Zelienople, died at 4:04 a.m. Wednesday at his home in Marion, Ohio.

Born on May 26, 1938, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Robert Lewis and Goldie Arvilla Hollerman Gilliland.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion, where he sang in the choir and formerly was an elder and trustee. He also belonged to the Elks Lodge 32.

Mr. Gilliland, a 33-year resident of Marion, was an operating engineer with GTE for 36 years and was the current manager of Pleasant Acres Mobile Home Park.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Coe Gilliland, whom he married Sept. 27, 1958 in Bristol, Va.; two sons, Robert Lyn (Christine) Gilliland of Hilliard, Ohio, and Dennis Wade (Julie) Gilliland of St. Charles, Ill.; a daughter, Lee Ann (Travis) Cluff of Marion; and a sister, Carole (Duane) Jacobson of Eyota, Minn. Six grandchildren, Megan, Robby, Emma, Kate, Wyatt and Mason, also survive.

GILLILAND - Friends of Robert L. Gilliland, who died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday atBOYD FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, Ohio. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Marion with the Rev. J. David Worthen officiating. Burial will be at Marion Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the music department of First Presbyterian Church.
