State grant may create 140 jobs
FORD CITY - Caracal Inc., a new semiconductor company, plans to hire at least 140 workers in three years with the help of $2 million in state grants, Gov. Ed Rendell said.
The Greater Ford City Community Development Corp. received $1 million to help pay to renovate a former PPG machine shop. The 80,000-square-foot building is part of Ford City's new Heritage and Technology Park.
Caracal will be the development's first tenant.
