Betty F. Hughes
Betty F. Hughes, 79, formerly of Fairview Avenue, died Wednesday at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born Feb. 21, 1925, in Butler, she was a daughter of Michael S. and Mary O'Masta Drobnak.
She was a homemaker and previously had worked at the Bantam shell shop during World War II.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church on Center Avenue and the Ladies Slovak Association.
Surviving are a son, William M. Hughes of Butler; a daughter, Cathy Bart of Sarver; and a granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Helsel of Flanders, N.J. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frank (Rosemary) Zelinka of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hughes, who died May 9, 1996; a brother; and a sister.
