Myrtle A. Oesterling

Myrtle A. Oesterling, 88, of 104 Anderson Road, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday at her residence.

Born June 26, 1916, in Meridian, she was the daughter of John Clyde and Sadie Schlagel Barnhart.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1933. She was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and former secretary of the Youth Temperance Council.

She was formerly employed at Woolworth's, A Penn Oil and American Hardware.

Surviving are three sons, Charles L. Oesterling of Lakeland, Fla., Raymond C. Oesterling of Butler, and Donald R. Oesterling of East Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Sue) Weyer of St. Joe, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Janet) Aspelin of Butler, and Mrs. Ethel Turner of Freeport; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

OESTERLING - Friends of Myrtle A. Oesterling, who died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary J. Sickles, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
