The Slippery Rock Business Association, which was established last March, has taken a positive step by becoming affiliated with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.
By way of the affiliation, the 38-member association will have exposure to other associations and business interests in the Butler County area. In addition, the new affiliation provides a voting seat for the association on the Chamber's board of directors.
In addition, the affiliation will enable access to the Chamber's newsletter, use of bulk mail rates offered to Chamber members, and having a link to the Chamber Web site.
"It (affiliation) does bring great benefits to the group," said Jen Sproat, association president.
Stan Kosciuszko, Chamber president, called the affiliation a win-win situation for everyone.
For the association the affiliation is especially important, because it allies the new group with an organization that has longtime experience in working with the county's business community.
The association merits praise for the vision that recognized the potential good that was possible through the affiliation.
