Union wraps up KSAC title

Cody Mortimer scored 15 points as the Union boys basketball team clinched sole possession of the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference title for the first time since the 1972-73 season with a 58-40 road win against Redbank ValleyTuesday night.

Adam Milanovich and Billy Burns each added 12 points for the Golden Knights (20-4, 12-1).

Union shared the KSAC title in 1983-84.

The Golden Knights will now wait for the District 9 playoff seedings, which are expected to be announced today.

It was the first league win for Slippery Rock (2-20, 1-12), which also received 15 points from David Hewitt.

Slippery Rock concluded its dual meet schedule Monday with a 63-47 girls loss and a 59-43 boys defeat to Oil City.Kevin Finch in the 100-yard freestyle and Robert Whitt in the 100-yard breaststroke were individual winners for the Rockets boys.
