Harvey and Ruth McDowell of Grove City will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Legacy Banquet Center, Route 58, west of Grove City.

The former Ruth Garrett married McDowell on Feb. 12, 1955, at the home of the bride's parents.

They have four children, David McDowell, William McDowell and John McDowell, all of Butler, and Judy Thropp of Olean, N.Y.

They also have six grandchildren.

The couple is retired, maintaining ownership of the McDowell Implement Company, which McDowell founded in 1951.

The couple requests no gifts.
