An Oct. 1 wedding is being planned by Deborah Ward of Saxonburg and Andrew Thompson of Butler.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jeff and Anna Marie Spencer of Franklin, and the late Laurence Sheehan. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are the late Meade and Mabel Thompson.

The bride-elect is a 1978 graduate of Oil City High School and a 1988 graduate of Clarion University, where she earned a degree in business management. She is a purchasing manager at Napco Window Systems in Sarver.

Her fiancé is a 1959 graduate of Butler High School and attended Robert Morris University. He works in the traffic department at Marmon Keystone in East Butler.
