Richard J. Miller

Richard J. Miller, 74, of Hidden Valley, formerly of Richland Township, died Saturday morning at Somerset Hospital.

Born Feb. 21, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John Hobart and Anna Domican Miller.

He had worked as the director of defense products for M.S.A. of Murrysville.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the Army and a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Somerset County.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

Surviving are his wife, Bernadine Dorencamp Miller, whom he married on May 16, 1953; two sons, Thomas K. Miller of Roanoke Va., and Timothy Miller of Phoenix; and three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Kathleen) Bugel of Valencia, Mrs. Brian (Maureen) Ferguson of Wexford and Elisabeth Miller of Arlington, Va.

Also surviving are two brothers, John Hobart Miller of Fox Chapel and Raymond Miller of Florida; four sisters, Marie Fazio and Rita Bigaman, both of Ligonier, and Maureen Hergenroeder and Jean Cimino, both of Murrysville; and 11 grandchildren.

MILLER - Friends of Richard J. Miller, who died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today atMcDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.Memorial donations are requested to the Alzheimer's Association, One Station Square, The Landmarks Building, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
