1:14 p.m. Tuesday - Rocky Michael, 26, of 332 E. Penn St. was arrested after allegedly shoplifting items at Friedman's market on West Brady Street. Police said they searched Michael, who initially gave officers a false name, and found him with a syringe and a cigarette pack containing three stamp bags of suspected heroin.Michael is charged with retail theft, false identification to law enforcement authorities, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.9:35 a.m. Monday - Vehicles driven by Ronald Pappas, 43, of Forward Township and Kenneth Klein, 34, of Connoquenessing Township collided on South Main Street.

12:15 a.m. Monday - An unidentified vehicle, possibly a Ford pickup truck, struck a split-rail fence along Route 58 in Allegheny Township, and did not stop following the crash. Richard Farrington owns the fence.
