SAXONBURG - Reservations are being accepted for the first Saxonburg Sweetheart Charity Gala to be from 6 to 11 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Conley Resort on Route 8 in Penn Township.

The event is presented by the Saxonburg Area Business Association and will include hors d'oeuvres, dinner, serenading musicians and flowers for the ladies.

Dancing begins at 8 p.m., with couple photographs, gifts and a silent auction with a weekend getaway also featured.

The event's cost is $45 per person and will be limited to 60 couples who register. Proceeds will benefit the Butler AM Rotary's Special Kids Zone Playground Project in Alameda Park.

The playground is the only one in Butler County specifically for children with physical disabilities and is one of only a few fully accessible playgrounds in the state.

Other charities and projects will benefit from the charity gala in the future.
